Ian Lawson presents three beautifully imagined XL Art Books. All the way through the photographer's journey, from dreams and desires to realisation. Blending documentary and landscape genres, Ian's work weaves together evocative picture stories from the Outer Hebrides, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
Story
Some places are special for their power, beauty, history, or story. This ancient place has all four and its effects will never leave me. Rising before dawn pays off on this occasion, in this invisible period between the long past and the unknown future. I’m able to witness the mid-summer sun slowly rising through low-lying mists, capturing an aura of mystery through a favourite panoramic lens. The rhythm of the stones beats slowly, their silent watch marking millennia over minutes. For them this morning was but a fraction of a moment, but to me in a press of the shutter, a timeless memory.
