Ian Lawson presents three beautifully imagined XL Art Books. All the way through the photographer's journey, from dreams and desires to realisation. Blending documentary and landscape genres, Ian's work weaves together evocative picture stories from the Outer Hebrides, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
Story
Tonight, grass and maram seas watch weather fronts sweep in high above Harris. Distant clouds surf towards mountainous shores as the air pressure ebbs and flows and their far edges glow like moor fire. From dawn through dusk and beyond, nature offers me photographic opportunities as she sees fit, my patience is all that is required. All week the sky’s changes have been swift, catching me unawares but bringing such joy when they choose to reveal their plans. I often think this place was created to lift a photographer’s weary soul.
